Upcoming Programs:

Anyone who attends a meeting is welcome to stay for the program.  Some programs are followed by workshops that require pre-registration and/or payment and are open first to members, followed by members of sister guilds, then guests.

If you wish to participate in an upcoming CPQG Class or Workshop please email our Program coordinators at programs@colonialpiecemakers.com. Workshops and classes can ordinarily be registered for 2 months in advance. Prices listed are for members. Non-members will be required to pay an additional $15 per workshop. Please consider joining our wonderful guild here!

Our Program coordinators have the following programs planned for the coming months:

2019 – 2020

MEMBERS HAVE FIRST PRIORITY

August:

Saturday August 1st, There will be a virtual presentation at the August meeting by Beth Filko, “The Long-Arm Process”.

September:

Friday, September 4th from 10am – 4pm.“Card Trick” paper piecing virtual workshop with David Sirota.  Cost: $40 per member for the workshop.   Supply list will be provided at sign up.

Card Trick is a optical illusion quilt. Paper-piecing guarantees more accuracy and enhances the illusion. For many of us, paper-piecing is confusing and tedious. You will learn his revolutionary “NO MORE TEARS” method of paper-piecing. You will not finish the entire project in class, you should at least complete one maybe more block/blocks. You will have the tools to complete your project at home. The block is 8”X 8”.

David Sirota lives in Manchester, NH. He has been quilting since the early nineties and was immediately drawn to paper-piecing. He found it confusing and tedious plus the paper was a draw back. He wanted it to be simpler. So, in 2004, he developed the “No More Tears” method of paper-piecing. This method is easier to understand and saves time about half of the time. The method has been so successful, he is now part of the Mancuso Show Management faculty.

Saturday, September 5th,  “No More Tears” paper-piecing lecture and trunk show presented by David Sirota, Instructor, Lecturer and Quilt Maker. Will start at 11:00 via ZOOM.

October:

Friday, October 2nd from 9am to 4pm. Tote bag workshop presented by Barbara Lynch. Cost: $20 per person.

Saturday, October 3rd, Corrine Vance will do a Trunk Show program and explain several methods to hang quilts, which will occur after Business, and Show-and-Tell

“EQ8, it’s easier than you think!” will begin after the October program (approx. 11am) on Oct. 3rd, and will last about 2-3 hours. It will begin with EQ8 basics, and Kathleen will demonstrate (live on her computer) how to design from fabric choice, using block libraries, and drawing your own blocks, to final design. Participants do not need any tools for this, and are encouraged to submit questions about EQ8 any time before Oct. 3rd. They will also be able to ask questions during the presentation, but it will help if she get them before then, so she can tailor the presentation to their needs. Participants pay $20, no limit on number.
